Dr. William Kane has over 30 years of experience in the fields of civil and geotechnical engineering and has provided litigation support to both the public and private sectors. This experience allows him to provide comprehensive forensic investigations, expert witness testimony, and litigation support services. In addition, Dr. Kane’s 16 years as a civil engineering professor gives him the ability to convey technical engineering and geologic concepts clearly and concisely to attorneys, mediators, and juries. Dr. Kane has provided litigation support in the form of thorough review and evaluation of technical documents, site research and investigation, report writing, supervision of lab materials testing, forensic studies, depositions and court testimony.
Reviewed documents and formulated opinions regarding construction claims by drilled shaft contractor. Advised defendants on nature and validity of claims.
Investigated nature of structural damage to residence adjacent to slope. Installed and monitored instrumentation to determine nature of landslide and subsequent damage during slope stabilization operations. Testified in deposition as percipient and expert witness for Plaintiff.
Investigated nature of structural damage in subdivision. Testified for Plaintiffs in deposition and arbitration regarding differential building settlement damage due to poor foundation preparation.
