KANE provided geotechnical engineering services for rockfall hazard assessment and mitigation at the Fremont Canyon Powerplant. Steep ravines above the facility generated recurring rockfall and debris flow hazards, threatening critical infrastructure, access through the tunnel, and personnel safety.
The completed mitigation system stabilized hazardous tunnel sections and reduced rockfall risks throughout the Fremont Canyon access tunnel.
